Events/Programmes held

University Teachers from Sri Lanka, Nepal and India

A three week Competence Development Programme in Federal Governance in Plural Societies was organized by the Centre from 18 Nov. - 8 Dec. 2007 for the University Teachers from Sri Lanka, Nepal and India. The Programme was sponsored by the Berghof Foundation, Sri Lanka. The main objective of the course was to thrash out the issues and concepts related to federal mode of power sharing in plural societies. During the course, eminent scholars from various institutions and senior civil servants of the Union Government of India, and of the State Government of Rajasthan, besides the faculty of the Centre interacted with the participants. The participants visited Jaipur and interacted with the Senior Officials of the government of Rajasthan. The duration and the structure of the course was equivalent to a University Grants Commission, New Delhi, India sponsored Refresher Course.
