Events/Programmes held

Sensitisation Programme for Senior Police Officers:

The Centre for Federal Studies, Hamdard University, New Delhi organized the Vertical Interaction Course on 'Policing and Minorities' for the Senior Officers of the Indian Police Services from September 6 to 12, 2007. Vertical Interation Programme for Indian Police Service 2006

Twenty-four senior police officers from 16 States/ Union Territories attended the course. The Programme was sponsored by the Bureau of Police Research and Development, New Delhi, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The Programme was inaugurated by Justice J.S. Verma, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India. Vertical Interation Programme for Indian Police Service 2006 The main focus of the programme was to thrash out the issue of misperception and gap between the Police and minorities. A number of imminent resource persons interacted with the participants and shared the views and experiences. In the feedback session the participants to the course strongly felt the need for this kind of programme in the future also. They also expressed the need for similar programmes for the police officers other than the IPS who are more directly involved in tackling the problem.
